Vol. 433 No. 5

Written Answers. - Enclosed Disposal Sites.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

74 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of all enclosed disposal sites that were operational in this country in the years 1960-1979; the matter disposed of therein; and their present status.

Wexford): Since waste management, planning and control are statutorily devolved to the major local authorities, the detailed information sought is not available in my Department. A considerable amount of information relating to local authority and private waste disposal operations is, however, contained in the National Data Base on Waste (1986), a copy of which is in the Oireachtas Library.
