Vol. 433 No. 5

Written Answers. - Driving Test Refusal.

Frank Crowley

Question:

78 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for the Environment the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was refused a driving test.

This person was not tested because he did not, as the relevant regulations require, produce a provisional driving licence at the time appointed for his test. The requirement to bring the current provisional licence when being tested is clearly indicated on the notification of a test appointment. The person arrived back at the test centre some 18 minutes after the scheduled test time, with his provisional licence, but he could only have been accommodated at that stage at the expense of other persons scheduled for tests on that day.
