Vol. 433 No. 7

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

104 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when headage arrears payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. However, the registered herd owner was paid his 1992 cattle and equines headage scheme grant in early January 1993 and his June 1992 special beef premium grant in mid-January 1993.

His application under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme is being processed at present and, if found in order, payment will be made shortly. The delay in making this payment has arisen because the person named did not complete his application form correctly.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

105 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a person (details supplied) in County Kerry will be entitled to a suckling quota.

The relevant EC Regulations provide for suckler cow quotas to be based on the number of cows on which a producer was paid premium under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme.

The person named was paid premium on two suckler cows under this scheme and has a quota entitlement of two premium rights.

Tony Killeen

Question:

106 Mr. Killeen asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will approve the payment of a beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Clare who was refused payment because of an error in his application form.

The person named is not the registered owner of the herd number quoted. The registered herd owner did however, apply under the 1991 special beef premium scheme for grants on 32 animals but did not present seven of them at inspection.

He has been requested to explain the absence of the seven animals applied for but has not done so to date.
