Vol. 433 No. 7

Written Answers. - Report of Commission on the Status of Women.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

131 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Health if he intends to take any action on the Commission on the Status of Women's report recommendation 11.6.3 (d) which does not require any legislation; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I understand that some maternity hospitals and units do keep a separate register of stillborn children. Where a separate register is not maintained stillbirths are recorded in the general Birth Register. Most of these hospitals are presently considering the establishment of a separate register for stillbirths.
