Question:

145 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Health the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kildare made alternative orthodontic arrangements in respect of her son; and if he will make a statement on the matter with particular reference to when treatment was first sought from the Eastern Health Board.

The provision of orthodontic treatment to this person under the public dental services is a matter for the Eastern Health Board. I have referred the matter to the chief executive officer of the Eastern Health board for his immediate attention and direct reply to the Deputy.
