Question:

150 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the total number of temporary teachers currently in service in national schools; the number of these with more than three years service and more than five years service as a temporary teacher.

There were 1,211 temporary teachers employed in national schools at the end of the 1992/93 school year. Of these, 126 had more than three years' service as a temporary teacher and 36 had more than five years' service.
