151 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the steps she will take in 1993 towards the commitments in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997 on the maximum class size of 29 pupils at primary level by September 1966.
Staffing arrangements for the 1993/94 school year provide for the retention of 200 posts which would have been lost otherwise due to falling enrolments. These posts have been allocated as remedial posts, concessionary posts in disadvantaged areas, home/school liaison teacher posts and posts for special education.
Staffing arrangements for the 1994/95 school year have not yet been determined.
