Question:234 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment when the new Regional Authorities will be established; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Regional Authorities.
The establishment of the regional authorities and their powers, functions and other operational details will be provided for in an order to be made by me under the Local Government Act, 1991. Drafting of this order is at an advanced stage. I intend that it will be made in time to allow the new authorities to be established, and to meet, later this year.
