26 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will give details of the consultative process with the parties in Dáil Éireann and the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs which he intends to undertake in preparation for his attendance at the Council of Europe Summit in October 1993.
As already indicated to the Dáil the Taoiseach will attend the Council of Europe Summit in Vienna on 8-9 October 1993. Preparations for the summit have been conducted in a working group of Permanent Representatives to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
The preparation for the summit and the Government's policy approach to it come within the terms of reference of the Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs. My Department would be pleased to brief the committee on the summit at any time it thinks appropriate.
