Vol. 434 No. 3

Written Answers. - White Paper/Education Bill.

Thomas P. Broughan

Question:

142 Mr. Broughan asked the Minister for Education if, in view of her recent initiatives and her invitation to all education interests to take part in the forthcoming Education Convention, she will give her proposed time-table for the White Paper and the Education Act to follow.

As I have already indicated on a number of occasions, I want to give the proceedings and outcomes of the National Education Convention the fullest consideration in the process of preparing the White Paper.

Subject to this I expect to adhere as closely as possible to the timetable in the Programme for a Partnership Government for the production of the White Paper, which will be followed by an Education Bill.
