Vol. 434 No. 4

Written Answers. - Artane (Dublin) School.

Richard Bruton

Question:

194 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the serious vandalism being suffered by a school (details supplied) which has a long standing application for funding for palisade fencing; and if she will sanction this in view of the serious damage being suffered.

My Department is aware of the problem of vandalism at this school. Last August my Department approved the provision of a new security fence at this school. The school authorities have however recently requested a review of their fencing requirements with a view to enclosing the entire school site. This is under consideration in my Department and a decision on the matter will be conveyed to the school authorities very shortly.
