Vol. 434 No. 4

Written Answers. - Resources for County Coroner.

Nora Owen

Question:

119 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for Justice if she will make adequate resources available through her Department for the County Dublin Coroner.

My Department has recently received correspondence from Dr. Sheehan, Coroner for the County of Dublin, in relation to apparent shortcomings in the facilities available to him as coroner for the holding of post-mortems and special examinations. He has put forward suggestions about improvements. The issues raised are primarily matters for consideration by the Departments of Health and the Environment and I have therefore brought Dr. Sheehan's correspondence to their attention.
