Vol. 434 No. 4

Written Answers. - County Enterprise Partnership Boards.

Trevor Sargent

Question:

120 Mr. Sargent asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the status of decisions taken by the County Enterprise Partnership Boards; and the mechanisms he intends to put in place to respond to these bodies.

Each County Enterprise Board will have access to the County Enterprise Fund to assist it in implementing and achieving the objectives of its area action plan. For this purpose, a Board may employ moneys from the fund in assistance to eligible enterprise within its county. Each board will have the services of the Evaluation Committee, which will make recommendations on the most appropriate level and form of assistance for all eligible enterprise projects.

Grants of £10,000 or less will be made to individual qualifying projects by the Minister, following on the recommendation of the relevant County Enterprise Board based on the positive recommendation of its Evaluation Committee. Grants in excess of £10,000 will be made by the Minister, acting on such a recommendation, as endorsed by the County Enterprise Co-ordinating Committee.
