Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Durkan — the need to provide extra facilities at Hewetson school, Sallins, County Kildare and the delays to date in progressing the matter; (2) Deputy Sargent — the need to ensure that no further public money or land is handed over to the current Dublin Zoo authorities until the Doyle report is published, given the imminent prospect of the dissolution of the Royal Zoological Society of Ireland and the transfer of all its assets, including animals, to a new limited liability company; (3) Deputy Molloy — the reason for the delay in granting approval for the new national school at Corrandulla, County Galway; (4) Deputy R. Bruton — the proposed increase in the price of drink and the evidence of anti-competitive practices in the drinks industry; (5) Deputy Allen — the reason the Southern Health Board finds it necessary to send elderly patients who need hip operations by helicopter to the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast; (6) Deputy Kirk — the need to provide the necessary finance under the National Development Plan to develop Clogherhead Pier, County Louth; (7) Deputy Flanagan — the high level of dissatisfaction throughout counties Laois and Offaly towards the MMDS multichannel television system and the problems faced by consumers; (8) Deputy Crawford — the measures to be taken to regain market share, on both domestic and export markets, for Irish vegetables and horticultural crops following losses resulting from the unprecedented heavy rainfall earlier this year; and (9) Deputy E. Ryan — the escorting of involuntary patients to psychiatric hospitals.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Sargent, Richard Bruton, Allen and Eoin Ryan.
