Vol. 435 No. 5

Written Answers. - Infirmary Road (Dublin) Site.

Michael McDowell

Question:

52 Mr. M. McDowell asked the Minister for Finance the plans, if any, that exist for the future development of the site on Infirmary Road, bordering Montpelier Hill, Dublin 7, currently used for storage by the Defence Forces; whether he intends to build new premises as previously indicated or to dispose of the site for private or local authority housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The site at the east side of Infirmary Road, bordering Montpelier Hill, Dublin 7, will remain occupied by the Department of Defence until other suitable accommodation has been provided for the Department. Possible future use of the property by other State services is being examined. In the event of the property, or any part of it, being deemed to be surplus to State requirements, it will be offered for sale.
