Frances Fitzgerald

Question:

35 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Health the approximate cost to the State of the provision of health board personnel to assist the parents of twin births as is currently the case in the birth of triplets and other multiple births.

Assistance to the parents of twins, triplets and other multiple births is made available as required following assessment by the health board. This assistance takes the form of extra visits by the public health nurse and home help is arranged if necessary.

The costs incurred by health boards in providing these additional services is not available.
