Vol. 435 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions Written Answers. - Killinarden (Tallaght) Community School Extension.

Pat Rabbitte

Question:

18 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Education if a decision has been made to allow Killinarden community school, Tallaght, Dublin 24, to proceed with the building of a sports hall; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Due to demands on the capital resources available, priority has been given for some time to the provision of essential teaching spaces. As a result it is not possible in present circumstances to grant aid the provision of physical education facilities at existing schools without such facilities.

Provision of PE facilities in such schools will resume as soon as pressure on available resources for classroom accommodation has eased.
