158 Mr. Flanagan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number of promotions within his Department to the posts of Executive Officer, Staff Officer and Clerical Officer for each of the years from 1988 to date in 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The Deputy will be aware that my Department came into existence on 20 January, 1993. In the time available it is not possible for the staff of my Department, by reference to the records of the relevant divisions of the Departments which now comprise Enterprise and Employment, to compile the information requested for the period prior to last January. In any event, I do not consider that such work would be a worth-while use of scarce resources given the many challenges which face my Department. However, details of promotions within my Department to the grades in question since 20 January are as follows:
