Vol. 435 No. 9

Written Answers. - School Transport.

Michael Creed

Question:

243 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Education if her attention has been drawn to the widespread dissatisfaction amongst parents and pupils at the current school bus service to a school (details supplied) in County Cork; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The case presented relates to the operation of the school transport service in question to a central set-down point. A central set-down point is a feature of the post-primary school transport scheme and is in operation in towns where there is more than one post-primary school.

I have had the case to which the Deputy refers examined by my Department and am satisfied that the pupils in question have a reasonable and adequate level of service in the context of the general operation of the school transport scheme.
