116 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Justice if her attention has been drawn to the fact that, in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow, an EC national is being prevented from claiming her entitlements of unemployment benefit because of the refusal by the Aliens Office to stamp her visa; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I was not aware of the case in question prior to the issues raised by the Deputy. I have asked my Department to liaise with the Department of Social Welfare to clarify the issues in question and I will write to the Deputy in the matter as soon as possible.
