Question:

128 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for the Marine the number of parliamentary questions for oral and written answer, respectively, tabled to his Department since the formation of the present Government; and the total cost of dealing with these questions.

Since the formation of the present Government to date, a total of 506 parliamentary questions have been tabled for answer by the Minister for the Marine. Of these, 225 were tabled for oral reply and 281 for written reply. On the basis of an estimated average costing by the Department of Finance, the total cost of dealing with these questions was approximately £33,000.
