Vol. 435 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dún Laoghaire West Pier Repairs.

Seán Barrett

Question:

127 Mr. Barrett asked the Minister for the Marine if he will have arrangements made to have the surface of the West Pier, Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin repaired, to allow members of the public use this very valuable amenity in safety.

The surfacing of the West Pier at Dún Laoghaire Harbour was one of the items addressed by the Dún Laoghaire Harbour Board in their Development Plan. The plan provides for surfacing of the footpath on the West Pier for pedestrian use as part of marina development. Any work on the West Pier will be carried out with respect for the distinctive architectural and environmental qualities of the pier, as resources permit.
