Question:

167 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education the total number of graduates of teacher education colleges in each year from 1991 to 1993; and the number of graduates of each of these years who are currently employed in permanent and temporary posts in primary schools.

The number of graduates from the Colleges of Education for primary teachers in each of these years as as follows: 1991, 252; 1992, 275; 1993, 294.

Statistics are not readily available as to the number of these graduates who are currently employed in permanent and temporary posts in primary schools.
