183 Mr. Barry asked the Minister for Education if her Department has been responsible for commissioning reports and/or inquiries over the past five years; if so, the nature and number of these; their cost; the number published or awaiting publication.

Reports Nos. 1 to 8 are for internal use by the Department and will not be published but the results of report No. 8 are to be made available locally.
Reports Nos. 9 to 13 have been published, Nos. 14 and 15 are available in the Oireachtas Library and it is intended to publish reports Nos. 16 and 17. No decision has been taken in relation to the publication of report No. 18.
In addition to the above reports the Sports, Reseach Committee has since 1989 commissioned 16 technical reports. Of these reports seven have been published and in the remainder the research is either still in progress or has just been completed. The cost of these reports was £83,641 and the individual titles can be made available to the Deputy should he require them.
