Vol. 435 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dungarvan (Waterford) School.

Austin Deasy

Question:

59 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education if she will grant approval to Ring national school, Dungarvan, County Waterford, for the provision of an additional classroom in view of the fact that at present there are 141 pupils with five teachers in four classrooms with an office currently being used as a classroom for some 16 pupils.

My Department accepts that additional temporary accommodation is required in the short term at this school and have requested the chairman to seek some such accommodation which it is understood may be available in the locality.

The question of whether additional permanent accommodation is required at the school is still under investigation and my Department will be in communication with the chairman of the board of management in the near future in this regard.
