Vol. 435 No. 10

Written Answers. - NCCA Funding.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

61 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Education if sufficient moneys have been made available to the NCCA to enable its curriculum committees to meet with sufficient regularity so that the new subject curricula will be ready by their due date; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The allocation to the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment in 1993 represented an increase of more than 10 per cent on the previous year's allocation.

In order to facilitate the council in processing the range of its committee work at primary and post-primary level, I have recently sanctioned a further £20,000 for this purpose, over and above the original provision for 1993.
