68 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Finance the steps, if any, that are being taken by the Office of Public Works to acquire an area of land adjacent to the Rock of Cashel, which formerly belonged to the site; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The Commissioners of Public Works investigated the possibility of purchasing this area of land but were unable to do so as the vendor was not prepared to sell it separate from the rest of the holding. If it is offered for sale in the future, the commissioners will again consider its purchase.
