96 Mr. J. Higgins asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received an application for a feasibility study for the development of port facilities in Killala Bay, County Mayo: if he will sanction finance for the study; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
A submission proposing the establishment of a port in the north Mayo-west Sligo area has been received in the Department. However, to date no application for funds towards the cost of a feasibility study of the proposal has been made. In the event that such an application is made it will, of course, be fully considered.
