Vol. 436 No. 3

Written Answers. - Clothing Allowance Payment.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

75 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for Social Welfare if a clothing allowance cheque for £120 will be issued to persons (details supplied) in Dublin 12 who did not receive the original cheque dated 20 August 1993 which went to another address, and was endorsed and cashed from the other address; if this cheque will be issued immediately in view of the fact that these persons have severe financial needs.

The back-to-school clothing and footwear scheme is administered by the health boards on behalf of my Department. The Eastern Health Board has advised that a replacement cheque is being issued to the people concerned in this case.
