Vol. 436 No. 3

Written Answers. - Cap on Planning Charges.

Tony Gregory

Question:

87 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment when the current cap on planning charges was introduced; the reason it has not been increased or removed; and if he will update the limits on charges.

I take it that the question relates to the fees, prescribed by planning regulations, which are payable to planning authorities in respect of planning applications. The current fees, including the overall maximum fee of £10,000, came into operation in February 1985 and are being reviewed at present.
