Written Answers. - Irish Amateur Boxing Association Grant.

Question:

116 Mr. Gallagher (Laoghis-Offaly) asked the Minister for Education the way in which the grant, in excess of £11,000 to the Irish Amateur Boxing Association for elite sports persons for 1993 is being spent.

Under the outstanding sportspersons grant scheme the Irish Amateur Boxing Association received a grant totalling £11,000 in respect of nominated elite sportspersons in 1993. This grant was allocated for expenditure in clearly identified training and competitive programmes under the following headings (a) nutrition, (b) transport, (c) accommodation, (d) equipment, (e) coaching/specialist support, (f) medical, (g) loss of earnings and (h) testing and monitoring.
