Vol. 436 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ordnance Survey Maps.

Ivan Yates

Question:

153 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will allow photocopies of ordnance survey maps under the 1994 area aid applications for cereal compensation as he did in 1993, in view of the difficulties for some farmers in obtaining such maps.

On 19 November I announced that maps would not be required from farmers who submitted maps in 1993 and where there will be no changes in the land farmed in 1994 i.e. where the applicant had the same field identification numbers as shown on the maps submitted in 1993. In cases where there are changes, original 25" maps will be required in 1994 only in respect of the new areas. I am satisfied that this concession, together with the reduced price now available for all maps, should get over any difficulties due to the non-acceptability of photocopies.
