Vol. 436 No. 8

Written Answers. - Remedial Works Scheme.

Tony Gregory

Question:

64 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for the Environment if, arising from his meeting on 12 October 1993, with members of Dublin City Council, he will give his response to the delegation's request that a window replacement programme be part of the remedial works scheme which he agreed to review.

I refer to the reply to Question No. 110 of 23 November 1993 in which I explained that funding is available from my Department for window replacement where such work forms part of a refurbishment project which has been designated for assistance under the remedial works scheme. In other cases, window replacement forms part of the normal maintenance of the housing stock and is a matter for local authorities to be funded from their revenue resources. There are no proposals to change these arrangements.
