Vol. 436 No. 8

Written Answers. - Grant Payment Delay.

Alan M. Dukes

Question:

98 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Education the reason for the delay in the payment of a grant for the installation of a new alarm system to the principal of the Holy Child School, Naas, County Kildare, in view of the fact that the grant in question was approved by her Department in 1988; if her attention has been drawn to the fact that the school is situated in an isolated area and is vandalised on a regular basis; and if she will have arrangements made for the immediate payment of this grant to the principal of the school.

The chairman of the school's board of management is being advised to invite tenders for the installation of a new alarm system in this school. A grant will be paid by my Department when the system has been satisfactorily installed.
