Vol. 436 No. 8

Written Answers. - Degree Allowances.

Liam Fitzgerald

Question:

96 Mr. L. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Education if all present specialist teachers who are entitled to degree allowances are receiving them.

As far as my Department is aware all teachers who are entitled to degree allowances are in receipt of such allowances.

Any teacher in a secondary, community or comprehensive school who considers that s/he is entitled to a particular qualification allowance and who is not already in receipt of such allowance should apply to my Department's post-primary teachers section in Athlone for payment of the allowance. Vocational teachers should submit their applications to the appropriate vocational education committee.
