Question:529 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Health the amount of revenue yielded by the hospital charges initiated by him; and the result of the review of this subject which he announced.
Written Answers. - Revenue from Hospital Charges.
In 1993, the estimated total revenue from the statutory in-patient and out-patient charges is respectively £12.4 million and £6 million. The review, which I initiated, of the operation of these charges has now been completed and I hope to make a full statement on the outcome very shortly.
