Vol. 437 No. 6

Written Answers. - Funding for Breast Clinic.

Avril Doyle

Question:

539 Mrs. Doyle asked the Minister for Health if, in view of the serious rate of breast cancer, he will provide the balance of the costs of refurbishing the new location of the breast unit at St. Vincent's Hospital, which amounts to £50,000.

St. Vincent's Hospital has submitted proposals for a number of major developments, including the relocation and expansion of the breast clinic, to my Department.

Officials of my Department will be meeting with the hospital management shortly to discuss how the hospital's priority needs can be addressed within the context of the revenue and capital funding available in 1994.
