Question:

594 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education the number of students who completed their education in each of the years 1992 and 1993.

An estimated 64,000 students completed full-time education in Ireland in the school year 1991-92. In 1992-93, the corresponding figure was 66,000.

595 Mr. R. Burke asked the Minister for Education the year in which the number completing education is expected to peak; and the estimated number for that year.

The number of students completing full-time education is expected to peak in the year 1999 at a level of about 73,000.
