The cost estimate for the renovation work to the school in question is currently being considered in the context of the Department's overall allocation and its other commitments and priorities. A decision on the matter will conveyed to the school authority at the earliest possible date.

Question:158 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education when she will approve a grant for expenditure on roof repairs to a school (details supplied) in County Limerick as documentation has been sent in by the school.

Question:159 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Education if she will approve permission to convert a storeroom into a strongroom for storage of television, video, computers and other such equipment for a school (details supplied) in County Limerick.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 158 and 159 together.
A report on the necessary work to the roof of the school in question is shortly expected from the Department's technical advisers. When the report is received and considered, a decision will be conveyed to the school authorities.
In regard to grant-aiding the cost of converting a storeroom into a strong room at this school, the Department has recently approved a grant towards the cost of the work.
