Written Answers. - Ombudsman's Remit.
As set out in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-97, the Government is committed to extending the remit of the Ombudsman in relation to patients' rights. This question is currently being examined in the context of the review by the Department of Health of the Charter of Rights for Hospital Patients.
