Vol. 438 No. 1

Written Answers. - Taxi Service Regulations.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

80 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment if, in regard to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 73 of 30 June 1993, he has yet completed his review of the law applying to the operation of small public service vehicles; and if he will now sanction the provision of a taxi rank for Navan, County Meath.

The review has been completed and regulations to implement a number of changes in the system are being finalised. These will include provisions relating to the introduction of taxi services to new areas such as Navan. The regulations will be made at the earliest possible date.
