Question:95 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the results of the disadvantaged areas appeal will be published; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Appeal.
The results of the review of the disadvantaged areas were submitted to Brussels on 11 November 1993 for examination. If the Commission accepts the submission, a detailed proposal will be made to the EU Council of Agriculture Ministers where a final decision will be taken after consultation with the European Parliament. This process normally takes about six months to complete and details of the outcome will be made available at that time.
