Vol. 438 No. 3

Written Answers. - Remedial Teacher Appointment.

Paul Bradford

Question:

146 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Education if a school (details supplied) in County Cork has been considered for the provision of a remedial teacher on a part-time basis; if such an appointment can be made; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has not received an application for the provision of a remedial teacher on a part-time basis from the school in question.

I take it that what the Deputy has in mind is an arrangement whereby the school would share the services of a remedial teacher with other schools in the area.

If the school in question wishes to have its case considered on this basis, it should make an application to my Department, in conjunction with other schools in the area having a similar need.
