Vol. 438 No. 4

Written Answers. - Ewe Premium Quota.

Jimmy Deenihan

Question:

254 Mr. Deenihan asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason a person (details supplied) in County Kerry did not receive an additional sheep quota from the national reserve; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The person named applied for an allocation of ewe premium quota from the national reserve number a category that required that the number of ewes applied for in 1991 was for a lower number than normal because of exceptional circumstances. The person named was paid for a higher number of ewes in 1991 then either of the previous three years and he does not, therefore, qualify for an allocation from the reserve.
