Vol. 438 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Children's Hospital Facilities.

Richard Bruton

Question:

278 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the need for a machine to replace injections as a means of blood testing diabetics in the Harcourt Street Children's Hospital; and if he will make funds available to fund the replacement laser system which would remove a great deal of the hardship this procedure causes for children.

I have received a request from the National Children's Hospital, Harcourt Street for funding to purchase equipment for the Diabetic Unit at the hospital. This request is being considered in the context of the capital resources for service developments in 1994, and the many other competing demands for hospital developments countrywide.
