Vol. 438 No. 6

Written Answers. - Greencore Inquiry.

Phil Hogan

Question:

68 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Justice the action, if any, that has been taken in respect of the Greencore Inquiry which alleged irregularities in the affairs of this company; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

It is presumed that the Deputy is referring to the investigation into the affairs of Siúcre Éireann cpt ordered by the High Court on 16 September 1991, under section 8 of the Companies Act, 1990.

My Department's only involvement with this inquiry related to the payment of the expenses of and incidental to the investigation as provided for under section 13 of the above Act.

However, I understand that the Minister for Enterprise and Employment has referred the matter to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
