Question:116 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason persons (details supplied) in County Leitrim have been refused extra sheep quota; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
Written Answers. - Sheep Quota.
The persons named applied for an allocation of ewe premium quota from the national reserve under a category which provides for reserve quota to be allocated to producers who were paid premium on a lower number of ewes than normal in 1991 because of exceptional circumstances. However the persons named were paid for a higher number of ewes in 1991 than either of the previous three years and they do not, therefore, qualify for an allocation of quota from the reserve.
