Vol. 439 No. 5

Written Answers. - Ennis (Clare) School.

Donal Carey

Question:

206 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Education if she has received an application from a person (details supplied) in County Clare who is seeking a grant for rewiring and replacement of fittings at the school hall at Holy Family senior school, Convent of Mercy, Ennis, County Clare; and if her attention has been drawn to the extensive activities which are undertaken in these premises annually and that this is the only substantial hall in the Ennis area of County Clare.

An application for grant towards the cost of undertaking major works to the stage lighting of the school hall at the Holy Family senior school, Ennis has been received in my Department. This work is not eligible for grant-aid as the provision of stage lighting would not be regarded as a normal facility in the design of a primary school's general purposes room-school hall.
