Vol. 439 No. 5

Written Answers. - Farranree (Cork) School.

Bernard Allen

Question:

209 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education if she will sanction the erection of a school hall at Scoil Íosagáin, Farranree, County Cork, a school of 620 boys in an area designated as disadvantaged.

It is the policy of my Department that the capital funds available for national schools be targeted on the provision of essential classroom accommodation and on the upgrading of substandard school premises.

It is not possible, therefore, to grant-aid the provision of a school hall for Scoil Íosagáin, Farranree at the present time.
