231 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education when the new leaving certificate applied programme will be available; the time schedule for the new programme to be published, made available and implemented; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The leaving certificate applied programme will be available in schools from September 1995. This will be a selfcontained two year programme replacing and expanding on the existing senior certificate and vocational preparation and training programme 1. The programme is presently being prepared by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment. It will be examined for the first time in 1997.
